Darren Aronofsky Just Made aN AI Film

HELLO CREATORS,

Another big voice from Hollywood is diving into AI — and this time, it’s Darren Aronofsky.

What Is Primordial Soup?

It’s a collaboration between Aronofsky’s production company Protozoa, Google DeepMind, and the Google Creative Lab. The goal? Explore how AI can push visual storytelling beyond realism and into raw, surreal emotion.

Instead of using AI to mimic cinema, Primordial Soup uses it to reshape it — with flowing, otherworldly visuals, dream logic, and experimental pacing.

The trailer was made using:

  • Google Veo 3 for 1080p, 60fps cinematic video generation
  • Flow for scene structuring, direction, and sequencing
  • Text-based prompting with layered camera and stylistic control
  • Human + machine collaboration to create something “no one’s seen before”

Why It Matters

Aronofsky isn’t just dabbling. He’s one of the first A-list filmmakers actively integrating generative AI into a real, festival-premiering work — not to replace artists, but to reframe how stories can look, feel, and move.

This also shows Google’s creative tools moving beyond beta demos and into real cinematic pipelines, with Flow acting as the connective tissue between concept and output.
