HELLO CREATORS,
Google Maps just went full ChatGPT.
With its latest update, you can now chat directly with Google Maps, ask questions like you would with a friend, and get back AI-powered, real-world answers — complete with photos, reviews, and directions.
But that’s just one of five major features rolling out now.
1. Conversational Search
Talk to Google Maps like a chatbot.
Ask things like “Where’s the best croissant near me?” or “Which cafés are open late with Wi-Fi?” and Maps will respond with AI-curated results using live business data, photos, and reviews.
2. Live View Search with AR
Tap the camera icon to activate Live View.
Find ATMs, restaurants, parks, and stations around you — with AR arrows guiding you in real time. It’s like street-level GPS with built-in discovery.
3. Immersive View
Preview a location before you go.
Get a photorealistic walk-through of restaurants, museums, or neighborhoods — complete with crowd forecasts and weather overlays. Even check the vibe of a place indoors.
4. Multi-Search with Words + Images
Search by combining text and visuals.
Looking for “vintage shops that look like this [insert image]”? Maps now supports multi-modal search, pulling from millions of listings.
5. Smart AI Suggestions
Need rainy day plans?
Ask “What to do when it rains nearby” — and Maps might send you to a comedy show or museum. It responds to real-world context, not just directions.
Google Maps isn’t just about getting from A to B anymore.
Now, it helps you figure out what to do, where to go, and how to get there — all in conversation.
Stay curious,
